Most of you know I love following politics, but I think I am worn out this year. I will of course watch the inauguration (we are setting up a TV in our lounge and inviting students to watch it as well as staff) but this hype is going over the top.

it’s passed beyond hype and become the sort of idolatry skewered in the comic.
Has there been a comparable outpouring of enthusiasm since the end of ww2? I was in Germany when the Berlin wall went down, but I don’t think the euphoria compares to this.
