Today marks the opening of the 2010 hurricane season. In our 9 years in New Orleans we saw plenty of wind and water (not just Katrina) and do not miss the drama and damage. We do, however, remember our friends and pray that the season is meek and mild.

Today I get back into the saddle, not blogging (although that is clearly going to happen as a procrastination measure, as this post attests) but in terms of my research. I have largely set aside June for work on my Targum Ruth project with only two trips and a handful […]
It is a reference to Stephen Jay Gould’s excellent article (which you should read if you haven’t, for no other reason than that Dawkins hates it) but it was this cartoon that brought it to mind. That and I happened to have a meeting this morning on a lecture series […]
I admit I do not use it very much…yet. It is a very powerful service that my brother swears by. HT Onward State Google posted an offer to college students a few days ago, saying that they would receive Google Voice invitations within 24 hours. All you need is a .edu […]
Hallelujah! Can you hear the angels singing? I won’t be able to update until I get home but apparently Apple has already addressed some of the key complaints I have with Pages on the iPad. From TUAW: iWork users rejoice! Apple is updating Pages, Numbers and Keynote for the iPad. […]

I am on the road again, this time for five days on the west coast. I spent yesterday in Las Vegas and gave a talk on the Book of Ruth in the only art museum in the entire city. Today and tomorrow I am in LA with a perk being […]

This morning I hit the road for Dallas, TX for the Apple Education Leadership Summit. It is the first real workout that the iPad has had and the first time I have had a few moments free to blog. There is much I would like to say about the iPad […]
I have finalized our session for Aramaic Studies, which you can see below. I will actually be giving two papers relating to biblioblogging. (I think I might go back to Biblicablogs. I like that term myself. Anyone else have views on that?) The first will be part of the Blogger […]
