No. This came up today due to a recent series on Christianity Today’s site. The series has good intentions. “Christ is our Passover Lamb” is a series of entries organized by Ed Stetzer. Part 8 was “The Atonement and the Passover: Exodus 12 by Matt Capps.” UPDATE: It appears that […]

This is my homily for this past Sunday evening service. I took a small liberty by introducing Luke’s account since Matthew’s is fairly sparse. The subject of this sermon came about by asking others what is the biggest question in their mind when they consider the infancy narratives. My wife and daughter and a few others online […]
From last Sunday. As with most sermons, I wrote sparingly and then in the preaching the sermon expands, but I think this captures my primary thoughts. Proper 5, Year C, RCL 1 Kings 17:17-24 Luke 7:11-17 The Widows’ Sons – Why Not Mine? When I came back to services one […]
The following is my sermon from this past Sunday. As you can see in the first paragraph, I am somewhat apologetic about the fact that I cannot read and reflect on our current readings without thinking of Mack and our loss. Then again, I realized that this is precisely what […]

Happy Easter to all. I have not finished this year’s sermon, but someone just commented on last year’s. Perhaps others would like to read it again as well. Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us!
I was getting ready for church this morning and had the radio tuned to our local NPR. Unfortunately this is not a very good radio so every time I move over to the closet the radio starts picking up a Christian station. This morning the preacher (I have no idea […]
