UPDATE: Just one more day! The deadline is February 28th!
A gentle reminder that we have one more week to submit paper proposals for SBL 2009. The conference will be in my old stomping grounds of New Orleans. I interviewed for my Tulane job during the last SBL meeting in New Orleans back in 1996! (I remember vividly eating good old rare beef with my fellow expats from Oxford. You will recall the mad cow scare of the late 90’s I am sure.) I know travel budgets are tight but I hope to see many of you there!
I want to particularly encourage those of you who work with Aramaic – language, literature, history – to consider submitting a paper for our session. True, we were unable to come up with a New Orleans/Katrina hook but it should still be a great session!

For some reason I was thinking the deadline was mid-March. Thanks for the reminder!
