NYC in Pictures

This past Sunday and Monday I was in The City with 28 of our students. We had a furious pace, from dim sum in Chinatown to a tour of the Stock Exchange, but it was a tremendous experience for the students. I learned a LOT about the financial world as well. Along the way I took a fair number of photos (641) and I have selected just a few for flickr. Most are focused on the students and our speakers, but there are some sites as well. Below is Trinity Wall Street (Episcopal) and a Catholic church right near the Battery.

In NYC

Yesterday and today I am in NYC with one of our classes. Yesterday we had dim sum at one of the most amazing restaurants in…the world? Maybe. Jing Fong (more pictures once I get back home):

Photo: Tussey Mountain hike

Yesterday the 5th grade class went for a 4 mile hike up Tussey Mountain. I of course took my camera and was last to come down the mountain. ;-) Here is one shot, just click on it to see more from the set.

A long weekend…

but sadly, not a very restful one. I was in Chicago Friday and Saturday and flew back Saturday evening. From Dulles to State College was the second worst flight I have ever been on. 35 minutes of unbelievable turbulance. I don’t get on roller coasters for a reason and having had a Five Guys burger 20 minutes before getting on the plane didn’t help eiher. I am convinced the only reason I did not toss my cookies (burger and fries) was that a student of mine was sitting behind me and I really didn’t want it to end up on facebook.

But I verified many times over the fact that there is NO Federal law or TSA rule against taking pictures in an airport (aside from the security check-in). An airport may have additional rules, but if they try and tell you that Federal law says you may not take any pictures anywhere in an airport they are lying. They can still keep you from catching your flight, but they are lying.

In South Carolina

Our plane finally arrived from Philly to remove us from the snowy valley of State College. We then had another 4+ hour delay in Philly before arriving in Charleston at 12:34 AM.

After a very long day of travel yesterday (landed well after midnight) I am in South Carolina for the next couple of days. I should have some time in the hotel to write which means I will likely procrastinate by blogging.
