Biblical Studies Writing Month (or so)
Finally, in great optimism of getting work done over the break, I declared December through January “International Biblical Studies Writing Month (or so).” The truth is, I haven’t done much on those articles, but that doesn’t mean I can’t! So, let me know what you have accomplished over the past 3 weeks or so and what you intend to finish by the end of January.
So, here are some of the guidelines that I suggested:
“Biblical Studies” is loosely defined. Indeed, my own work, at least at the moment, is all on rabbinic literature. So, I call upon all “Bibliobloggers,” “Theobloggers,” or anyone else who is working on any material that at some point has some contact with the Bible in any tradition. (Even theologians have to refer to the Bible now and then.)
Feel free to start now! Take advantage of these last days of 2007 and then be sure to sure to start 2008 off with an academic bang!
If you have a blog, please post at least the title or description of the project you intend to tackle this month. Let’s leverage the medium for all its worth. I for one would be very happy for any suggestions regarding my work on TgRuth or the “Eschatological Lists” in the targumim of the Megillot.

I will offer a prize! I am mulling over what that might be, but I am thinking a book would be appropriate (there will have to be a price limit, so unless you are using an author’s discount Brill is out, where, by the way, my book is on sale!). But I would be happy to offer a Penn State hoodie or other such if there were interest.
