snow

It can stop snowing now. Really.

I love being back in the northeast with the seasons. The thing I really love about the seasons? They change. You hear that? They CHANGE. Now get to changing. The scene this morning from our back deck:

Out like a lamb, remember that?

Did you know that it had been snowing? (Pictures)

You have probably heard by now (unless you were outside shoveling) that it snowed over much of the mid-Atlantic region. We got hit with about 16 inches in Happy Valley. The folks (and my folks) in DC were getting hammered pretty hard, they are expecting a whopping 3o inches! Jim West would LOVE it here. Below are just a couple of shots from today. You can see more at my flickr account.

Specless JoePa and other snowy pictures

On my way to work I took a few more snaps including one of the JoePa statue outside of Beaver Stadium. His glasses were stolen last week.

Snow & Ice

The arctic blast has hit Happy Valley. We had another 2″ of gentle, very fine snow fall last night and school is delayed 2 hours. The snow plow has left a nice berm at the end of my driveway I have to clear and the temperature is 14º. I am sure Jim West wishes he were here to help me shovel.

Snowy weekend

Jim West’s hell is my delight. I love snow, in its proper place and time, and Saturday we got a nice 6″ of snow in Central PA. The fact that it was on the weekend was even better, it meant that I could play with the kids and they did not have to miss school. Even our kids are tired of snow days. The called the first one this year on the prediction of an ice storm that never arrived. Our daughter knows that all this does is make the school year longer. One friend from North Dakota said if they cancelled school like this in ND he would still be in 3rd grade. Since I broke a bone in my wrist I couldn’t do a lot of sledding (standing was dangerous enough, there was an inch of ice under the snow on the ground where we sled) so I took pictures instead. Below is an “artsy” attempt and more of the kids and whatnot are available at my flickr account.
