Come to think of it “Faculty Toilet” would be a great name for a blog, don’t you think?

We still haven’t really had the cold weather (read: snow) that I would like, it has been below freezing for quite a while in central PA, creeping back up to mid-30s today. Yesterday this nice little primer came in the mail from BH. Yes, it is a glorified ad, but there are some good tips in there as well.

Even though the leaves are down and your frost-laden lawn makes crunchy sounds when you cross it in the morning, that doesn’t mean it’s time to pack your cameras away until March or April; if you do, you’re going to miss some fine picture-taking opportunities.
Appropriate layers of warm clothing and insulated boots aside, capturing strong stills and video during the colder months of the year requires a bit of foresight, a few recommended weather-related accessories, a measure of common sense and the desire to take great pictures despite the cold. According to a buddy of mine who enjoys driving around in snowstorms with the roof of his car down, this is a clear sign of mens sana in corpore sano.*

Family Photos & a Happy New Year
This winter break I was fortunate enough to have access to one of the teaching studios on campus. I had a ton of fun with the family and a special session with my son (and his LEGOs). These are the three of the family that my wife likes the most and will soon adorn our home walls.
So from our family to yours, we wish you a happy and blessed New Year!
“Glory to God in the highest”
I pray for that you all had a blessed Christmas and wish you all the best as we end this year. If you are like me, you have a number of activities on your list for this next week: articles to read and write, work on the house, and of course spending time with family. I am preaching to myself when I say, try to also take time to relax, reflect, and prepare for the time ahead, whatever that “time” may be.
